Tonight we worked on Snacks badge. This went a lot faster and smoother then I thought it might (always good). For step #1 we played Name Game girls sat in a circle and the first girl state her name and a favorite snack that starts with the first letter of her name. The second girl repeats what the first girl said and then adds her own name and snack. Continue around the circle and see if girls can remember all the preceding names and snacks. Step#2 we made Ants of Log (celery, peanut butter and chocolate chips). Step #3 Quick Easy No-Bake Scotcheroos (dangerously good). Step #4 we completed on our hike a few weeks back. Step #5 girls made smoothies....seriously they loved this badge!

Tonight we had our Awards Ceremony. I try to come up with fun ways to present the badges. I found this idea on pinterest and ran with it. It was super easy a brown piece of paper is all you need. I just glued the Journey and Skill Builders to front and fun patches to the back. I love that this will also help parents help know where to put the badges. I try do Awards Ceremony 3 times a year (Nov/Feb/May) this one was a little late because we really wanted to include the puppet show and that took a lot time to complete. I find this approach allows the parents to come and be a part of the Girl Scout experience. The girls do a full ceremony which they lead. It seems that everyone really enjoys this. Tonight we wrapped up the World of Girls Jounrey (Tell a Story/Change a Story) in a really fun way. The girls did a great job presenting the show. It was a really fun to bring this Journey to life.
Downtown Holiday Light Parade...always a lot of fun! We got lucky this year no rain and not too cold. Can't complain I have walked through much worse weather. A great night This year the theme was CrAzy hats...the troops all had a lot of fun with this theme. The $1 was a huge help, I purchased head bands from there and at a meeting the girls added additional decor to make the hand bands a little more “crazy”. It was a fast and cheap way to get this done. All the girls looked festive in their hats.
